DESCRIPTION:
English, Wm. Dorrell, very narrow brass dial tall clock, time and alarm, 30 hour, with an early vertical post lantern style movement with crown wheel at top and verge with short pendulum, from the collection of Doug Shaffer, c1750
CONDITION:
The case has been stripped of its finish and with a light coat of wax; really could use some finish. Case back has split and been glued/ repaired. Hinges are original. Top dust cover to hood is original, but loose. Dr. Shaffer had 2 replacement weights on the clock, however it still needs two extra small counter weights for rope tension [lead fishing weights will do fine]. A very unusual and appealing piece for the collector of early one day tall clocks. Ht 72"
